Music Lab

In order of discovery…

Mario Paint Composer
I discovered this for the first time, around 2014. I didn’t start making my first song until 2016.
Feature: Fluffy Tales (Excitement Boost Prototype)

Org Maker 2
After I finished playing Cave Story in 2016, I found Studio Pixel’s Organya software when I was browsing the CS tribute site. This was also when I started consistently making compositions and started showing off my music online.
Feature: Danger Zone (Revived)

Audacity
Originally, I installed this so I could record my Org Maker songs to post online. It wasn’t until 2017 I decided to try be creative with it. I started by making audio YTPMV-esque soundtracks with the lunchtime conversations I would have with my friends. I also now use it to mix different tracks from different software together to make music with. I’ve even tried doing mashups, too!
Feature: Girls Chase More Than (Just A) Holy Grail (Mashup)

FamiTracker
I found this software in either 2016 or maybe 2017 when I got curious about more free music software. I found it difficult to understand, at first, but I returned back to it in either 2017 or 2018.
Feature: Krawls Around

pxtone Collage
This is also a program I found in 2016 or 2017 in the CS tribute site but didn’t start actually using in about 2018. A very similar story to what happened with FamiTracker.
Feature: Best Time Since Sliced Bread

LMMS
Unlike the rest, I found this when I was scrilling through my dash. This came with a post talking about free alternatives to expensive software, and LMMS was the alt. for programs like FL Studio.
Feature: All This Time (Alternate)

Roland GAIA SH-01
This is my first ever synthesizer. Since late 2018, I decided to get a job (which was delivering catalogues) and worked hard until I finally purchased in on the 1st of June, 2019. (Fun fact: I coincidentally met my piano tutor at the music store!)
Feature: Scrap Metal (WIP)

OpenMPT
I found this program in 2019 when I was listening to remixes/covers of Cave Story soundtracks. I was originally going to use it to make MIDIs with, but the, I discovered I could create instruments using voice samples. I use that to experiment and make YTPMV-esque songs.
Feature: All This Time (Sam7 YTPMV) (no melody)

Anvil Studio
I will admit, that I don’t really remember how I found this program. I suppose, I was just looking for a new MIDI program to experiment with. Nonetheless, I found this in late 2019.
Feature: Triumphant April

MuseScore
Funnily enough, I first found this program in 2016-2017, only so that I could play some of my favourite songs/soundtracks on the piano. I actually didn’t start using MuseScore to create soundtracks (that aren’t necessarily made for sheet music) until mid-2020!
Feature: Rot-repellent
